WINNIPEG, April 5, 2021 – the H2O Academy will officially open its doors on Tuesday, April 6th at their brand-new location in the McCreary Business Park to excited families all over Manitoba. This is the first pool built by a private swim school for expert learn-to-swim instruction in Manitoba. “Building a business based on the essential life skill of swimming in our own community is a huge honour” said the Co-founders and Co-Owners Kaley Maksymyk and Krista Morden.
The celebration begins with a physically distanced grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, April 5th at 2:00 pm in front of the H2O Academy located at 200-400 Fort Whyte Way. The facility features a warm and inviting 88-90-degree Fahrenheit teaching pool, private universal changerooms, and an enhanced UV disinfection system, the latest in commercial pool technology. They will be operating at 25% capacity due to COVID-19, and complying with all public health orders.
The H2O Academy will continue to provide developmentally appropriate water safety and swimming lessons for students ages 4 months to adults using their proprietary AQUA-Lit™ Curriculum©, which was created by the H2O Co-founders. “We use an improvement scale that measures skills and confidence which means there is no passing or failing, just progress. At H2O, we want people to be as comfortable, confident, and efficient in the water as they are on land!”
