Our History

At H2O Academy, we’re proud of our journey from a shared vision to a thriving community. The seeds of H2O Academy were planted in 2010 when we began researching and developing what would become our proprietary Aqua Lit curriculum. By 2013, our innovative teaching approach was ready to launch, and in 2014, we formally incorporated as a business.

In September 2015, we held our first classes at the Winnipeg Winter Club, where we rented space to share our love for swimming with the community. Thanks to the incredible response from families, we hired our first staff member in 2016. By 2017, demand had grown so much that our waitlists exceeded our available spots.

In 2021, after years of planning and dedication, we opened the doors to our very own facility at 200-400 Fort Whyte Way on April 6. This milestone marked the beginning of a new chapter, allowing us to grow our programs and welcome even more students to the H2O Academy family. Today, H2O Academy thrives with a large faculty of dedicated staff who share our passion for teaching swimming in a safe and supportive environment.

H2O Academy was co-founded by Kaley Irving and Krista Morden, whose contributions helped shape the early days of our business. Kaley became the sole owner of H2O Academy in 2023, continuing to lead the Academy toward new heights with an unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation.
